Observing, communicating, measuring, inferring and predicting were only some of the essential enquiry skills being developed by our P4 pupils. These young scientists were presented with the problem that Ted didn’t have a waterproof coat. Collaboratively they had to investigate which household item/material (cling film, tin foil, kitchen roll or vinyl tablecloth) would be the most suitable to keep Ted nice and dry in our lovely Northern Irish weather. To quote Alfred Wainwright, ‘There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing!’
