Living our Values

With songs, laughter and open hearts, one P5 class created unforgettable moments during their visit to Kilwee Nursing Home. The residents welcomed our pupils with warm smiles, creating a lovely atmosphere of mutual appreciation and joy. The children performed a selection of songs and poems, which were met with heartfelt applause from the audience. Una, a staff member at Kilwee, shared a touching reflection on the visit:

“Mr Murphy had reminded the pupils before their visit that they were to make someone smile, and they did that in spades. The residents joined and clapped enthusiastically during and after their performances. However, what was striking was that after their performances, the youngsters spread out around the residents, conversing and listening to them so easily. It was a joy to watch.”

This visit was more than just a performance—it was a beautiful exchange of stories, music and kindness. The pupils showed maturity and empathy beyond their years, engaging with the residents in a way that brought comfort and companionship.

We are incredibly proud of our P5 pupils for representing the school with such warmth and respect. A huge thank you to the staff at Kilwee Nursing Home for their hospitality, and to Mr Murphy for encouraging our pupils to lead with kindness. We look forward to continuing this special connection in the future.
