Journeying Together in Faith

Our Primary 7 pupils, along with their families, have been taking part in a series of meaningful celebrations and activities as they continue their preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The journey began with the Service of Enrolment, during which the pupils publicly committed themselves to learning about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and deepening their understanding of the faith. This important moment marked the official start of their Confirmation preparation. Following the Enrolment service, the P7 pupils took part in a spiritual retreat, giving them space to reflect on their relationship with God in a quieter and more personal way. Through prayer, discussion, and guided activities, they explored what it means to be followers of Christ and how the Holy Spirit can guide them in their daily lives. The retreat provided a valuable opportunity to pause, listen, and grow spiritually as a class.

More recently, the children and their families gathered once again for the beautiful Service of Light. This celebration focused on journeying together in faith—pupils, parents, parishioners, and staff united as one parish family. A highlight of the evening came when parents and children lit their candles, symbolising the passing on of faith from one generation to the next. The warm glow of the candles reminded us of the light of Christ that guides our path, strengthens our relationship with God, and inspires us to shine His love in the world.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Martin for his active participation, his welcoming, supportive presence, and the thoughtful way he led both services. His encouragement and guidance have made this stage of the journey especially meaningful for our pupils. We are grateful to everyone who has supported them along the way, and we continue to pray for our young people as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
