Pride filled the hall at St. Anne’s Primary School as we came together for a vibrant Celebration of Sport, recognising the pupils who have worn our school colours with commitment and success throughout the year. It was an afternoon filled with applause, inspiration and community spirit as we honoured the children who have represented St. Anne’s across athletics, soccer, camogie, hurling and Gaelic football, showcasing not only their talent but their dedication to teamwork and school pride. This year’s achievements have been exceptional, with pupils competing at local, county and provincial levels. Their hard work, resilience and passion for sport have been evident in every training session, match and event.
We were honoured to be joined by past pupils – both young and not‑so‑young – who continue to represent our county with distinction, as well as other county players who generously gave their time to inspire our children. Their presence meant so much to our pupils, who look up to them as role models and proof of what dedication can achieve.
We also extend our deepest appreciation to our coaches, whose commitment, encouragement and expertise have shaped the sporting journey of every child recognised today. Their willingness to give their time, energy and guidance has helped build confidence, skills and a strong sense of belonging within our teams. The success we celebrated is a direct reflection of their passion and leadership.
A special thank‑you also goes to the many families who attended and who support our players week after week. The encouragement from home, combined with the commitment of our coaches, has helped create a strong sporting culture within our school.
As we look ahead, here’s to future success. If the enthusiasm, talent and determination shown this year are anything to go by, we are incredibly hopeful and excited for what next year will bring. St. Anne’s is proud of every single pupil who pulls on a school jersey. They represent us with heart, pride and spirit and we could not ask for more.
