Four in a Row!

Our Girls’ Gaelic Football team has once again made school history, securing the Indoor Championship title for the fourth year in a row—an extraordinary achievement that reflects their determination, teamwork, and unwavering spirit.

The road to victory was anything but easy. Facing some of the strongest competition to date, the girls rose to every challenge with grit and composure. In the qualifiers, they saw off Bunscoil an tSleibhe Dhuibh, St Therese of Lisieux, and Gaelscoil na bhFál, delivering confident performances that set the tone for the tournament ahead.

Moving into the championship rounds, the intensity only grew. The girls battled fiercely, securing impressive wins against: St Oliver Plunkett — 1-8 to 1-3, Bun Scoil — 2-5 to 2-4 and Holy Trinity — 2-3 to 0-4. Each match showcased not only skill and athleticism but also the team’s remarkable ability to stay composed under pressure.

The final brought them face-to-face with a strong St Joseph’s Carryduff side. In a tightly contested game, our girls held their nerve and emerged victorious with a hard-fought 1-1 to 0-2 win. The level of competition this year has never been higher, making this achievement all the more impressive.

We are incredibly proud of every player who represented the school with such heart, resilience, and sportsmanship. A heartfelt thank you goes to Coach Lavery and Coach Teague, whose dedication, encouragement, and belief in the girls continue to inspire excellence. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping not just skilled athletes, but confident young leaders.

We also extend our gratitude to all the parents and families who came along to cheer from the sidelines. Your support means the world to the team and adds so much to every match day.

Congratulations, girls—four years running and still going strong. What an achievement.
