Frogs in the Making

In a delightful hands-on learning experience, our pupils recently had the opportunity to place frogspawn into our school pond, thanks to a generous donation from Mr. McCourt. This exciting event allowed the students to engage directly with nature and learn about the fascinating life cycle of frogs.

Before placing the frogspawn into the pond, the pupils were given the chance to feel the frogspawn. This tactile experience was both educational and fun, though getting the slippery frogspawn out of the bucket proved to be a bit of a challenge! The pupils’ laughter and excitement filled the air as they carefully transferred the delicate spawn into the water.

This activity is more than just an introduction to amphibian life; it is an ongoing educational journey. The pupils are eagerly looking forward to observing the frogspawn as it progresses through its life cycle, from tiny eggs to tadpoles and eventually to fully grown frogs. This real-time observation will provide invaluable insights into the wonders of nature and the importance of environmental stewardship.
