Creating a splash!

Our eco-agency agreed that we needed to create a school pond to increase the biodiversity around our school site.  So, with the helping hands of P& K Mc Kaigue Building Contractors and a very knowledgeable parent, the eco-agents rolled up their sleeves and went to work! When the hole was dug out, the liner was placed and then filled with rainwater from our water butts. Some large stones and aquatic plants were placed to offer shelter and resting sites for wildlife and assist them in getting in and out of the water.

Our newly created pond will be a such a valuable habitat for our ecosystem and a brilliant resource for outdoor learning! We can’t wait to see the wildlife it attracts and provides a home for!
