In a joyful burst of rhythm and rhyme, P5 pupils from Miss Edwards’ class have triumphed in the ‘Hedgerow for Heroes’ competition—thanks to their original rap: ‘Make some Noise for the Hedgerows. This expressive and energetic composition stood out for its originality, passion, and powerful message. It blended environmental facts with catchy beats and heartfelt calls to action, earning praise from judges for its individuality and impact.
As winners, the class has secured three bespoke workshops with environmental educators and an incredible twenty metres of native hedgerow to plant on the school grounds. This living legacy will support birds, insects, and small mammals, enriching the biodiversity of the site for years to come.
With spades at the ready and lyrics still echoing in the corridors, P5 are proving that when young voices speak up for nature, real change can take root. Let us make some noise….for the hedgerows, for creativity, and for the young environmentalists leading the way!
