Young Musicians Shine at Belfast Trad Fest

Our traditional group took to the stage at the Belfast Traditional Music Fest held at Royal Avenue. The event, which brought together young musicians from various primary schools, offered a vibrant showcase of traditional Irish music.

Our girls had the opportunity to enjoy performances from their peers, soaking in the rich variety of tunes and styles presented throughout the day. When it was their turn to perform, the group rose to the occasion with a selection of well-rehearsed traditional tunes. Their performance was met with a huge round of applause. One teacher from another school paused to remark, “What a well-polished performance,” while a member of the public added, “What a super group.”

The pupils were buzzing with excitement after their performance, proud to have represented our school. Their enthusiasm and musical skill made them fantastic ambassadors, showcasing not only their talent but also the dedication and support behind their musical journey.

This memorable experience highlighted the importance of cultural events in nurturing young talent and fostering community spirit. It was a day of celebration, connection, and music — and these young performers certainly made their mark.
