Student Council Champions Anti-Bullying Awareness

At our school, student voice is at the heart of everything we do—and our student council has once again shown just how powerful that voice can be.

In a recent initiative, the council took on the important task of making our anti-bullying policy more accessible to all pupils. Their goal? To create a pupil-friendly leaflet that clearly explains what bullying is, how to prevent it, and what to do if it happens. The project began with councillors exploring examples of anti-bullying materials from other schools. They also consulted with classmates and younger pupils to understand what information would be most useful and how it should be presented. This collaborative approach helped them compile a checklist of key points to include. Working in pairs, the councillors designed a range of leaflet templates. Each design was carefully reviewed, and after much discussion, one standout version—created by two of our talented Primary 7 councillors—was chosen. This design was sent to a professional graphic designer, who brought the students’ vision to life in the form of a colourful, engaging trifold leaflet. The final version has now been printed and distributed to all pupils across the school. You can check it out by clicking on the following link: School Council Anti Bullying Trifold Leaflet

This project is a brilliant example of student leadership in action. By taking the initiative and working together, our student council has created a resource that will help raise awareness and support a kinder, more respectful school community.
