St. Anne’s goes green!

We are thrilled to announce that our school has been awarded the prestigious Green Flag, recognising our outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and eco-awareness!

This achievement marks the successful completion of a two-year eco-plan, which focused on four key targets:

  • Enhancing biodiversity around our school grounds
  • Encouraging active travel among pupils and staff
  • Reducing the waste generated by our school
  • Raising awareness about the impact of littering

What makes this award even more special is that it was a whole-school effort—with every pupil from Nursery right up to Primary 7 playing a part in our eco journey. From planting wildflowers, building a pond, to promoting walking and cycling, our pupils have shown incredible enthusiasm and care for the environment. Our elected eco-agents have led the way with pride, energy, and determination. Their tireless work and passion have inspired the entire school community to think and act more sustainably. To mark this proud moment, we hosted a celebratory assembly, bringing together pupils, staff, and special guests to reflect on our journey and share in the joy of this achievement.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the external agencies and experts, including some of our own parents, who supported us throughout this journey. Their guidance and encouragement helped make this a true community effort.

As we prepare to fly our Green Flag high, we’re already looking forward to the next chapter. Planning is underway for our next two-year eco-plan, and we can’t wait to build on this success. Congratulations to everyone involved—this is a proud moment for St. Anne’s and a big step towards a greener future!
