Pupils are getting to ‘grips’ with hurleys and sliotars – enhancing their co-ordination, spatial awareness, motor skills and balance. Using a variety of games and drills, the pupils practice their grip and swing, catching and striking skills. And all under the watchful eyes of Simon, their coach. Simon, who works for Antrim GAA, hopes the pupils are going to develop a passion for this ancient and national sport which is considered to be the fastest field sport in the world. And why not, as you can see from the photographs the children are having a ball!
