The whole school participated in a ‘#Feel Good Friday’ on Friday 21st June, the third campaign run by our Bully Buster Team and our school councillors this year. Jessica and Orla, our two lead Anti-Bullying Ambassadors visited assemblies and classes to talk with teachers and pupils about the plan for the day. It centred on well-being awareness and spreading happiness and kindness in St Anne’s. The children had to focus on feeling good themselves and making others feel good by undertaking ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ for ‘secret buddies’. They were also busy raising self-esteem by giving out compliments to their peers. The children learnt how to keep their bodies and their minds healthy by participating in different activities throughout the day. These included dancing to a ‘feel good soundtrack’, doing some mindfulness colouring and watching the ‘Inside Out’ movie which teaches children that it is okay, and normal, to experience a wide range of emotions. The day was such a success that more are planned for next year.
