Powered by Feet, fuelled by friendship

The Wedderburn Walking Bus is on the move! This tremendous achievement is the result of dedicated planning and teamwork. Our incredible Eco-Agents led the way by collecting essential pre-launch data, carefully mapping out a safe and accessible route, and conducting a thorough risk assessment to ensure the safety of all participants.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our volunteer conductors and drivers, the Walking Bus is now fully operational Monday to Friday, with 15–20 pupils joining the journey each day. The children are embracing the opportunity to walk and talk with their peers, forming new friendships and enjoying a healthy, active start to their school day.

A huge thank you goes out to all our volunteers who make this possible each day. Their time and commitment are deeply appreciated. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Maeve from Belfast Healthy Cities, whose guidance and support were instrumental in getting this initiative off the ground.

The Wedderburn Walking Bus is a shining example of what we can achieve when we work together forthe good of our children and our community. Here’s to many more happy footsteps ahead!
