‘Express yourself’ was the theme of Children’s Mental Health Week. As part of our ‘Feel Good Friday’, pupils were encouraged to celebrate their individuality. They were asked to explore creative ways to share their feelings, thoughts and ideas, using art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film.
Taking a rainbow walk, colouring in, blowing bubbles were some of the activities enjoyed by our pupils to help them to become more ‘mindful’ and not ‘mind-full’. Feel Good Friday also saw the launch of a six-week bespoke programme of mindful exercises, breathing techniques and stress reducers for our pupils.
Taking a well-deserved break from their studies, and simply doing the things they love with the people they love, seems to agree with our pupils – don’t you think?
