Open for business!

Setting up and running their own business was the task embraced by our P7 pupils. ‘Coffee n Grow’, ‘Baggie Taggies’ and ‘Bead Boss’ were the three companies established by our young tycoons.  Pupils relished trading at the ‘Young Enterprise Business Beginnings Trade Fair’ in Victoria Square, with ‘Coffee ‘N’ Grow’ scooping up two of the awards: ‘Best Trade Stand’ and a ‘Special Award’.  Unfortunately, due to the concert dress rehearsal, ‘Bead Boss’ couldn’t attend. A huge thank you to their business mentors: Noel Allen from ‘Noisy Snacks’, Brendan Murphy from ‘Ghost Consultancy’ and Chris Magee from ‘Chris Cross Man with a Van’, who were instrumental in helping our pupils develop their entrepreneurial skills; and to the PTA for generously providing the starter loans. With loans repaid and 10% of their profit given to Young Enterprise, all three companies generously donated 20% of their profits to the PTA with still enough money to buy chip butties for the whole year group!
