Litter – don’t drop it, stop it!

Community Awareness Officers from the Belfast City Council came to talk to our P1s about litter. Using a combination of presentations, stories, props and role-play, the pupils learnt about the different types of litter and how it can harm people, creatures and the environment if disposed of irresponsibly.

They were also introduced to Captain Clean-Up, an anti-litter superhero, who protects Belfast from his arch-enemy General Grime and his nasty gang of litter bugs who love to throw their rubbish on the streets. Other Anti-Litter Workshops will be provided for Nursery and Year Groups 2-7 with a whole school clean-up of school grounds scheduled early in November.
