Ireland – a land of saints and scholars and so much more!

As part of their WAU topic ‘Mighty Me’, the pupils in Primary Five have been researching and exploring many of Ireland’s greats. Each child was given the challenge of creating a project based on a famous Irish person of their choice. These included poets, pirates, sporting heroes, explorers, novelists and inventors. The pupils took great pride in showcasing and presenting their work to their peers. As you can see from the photographs, some have been extremely creative in their designs.

Now it’s time to test your knowledge……

  1. Which famous Irish architect designed the Titanic?
  2. Which Irish playwright is quoted to have said, ‘I can resist everything except temptation?’
  3. Which famous Irish explorer led three expeditions to the Antarctic?
  4. What do the initials represent in C.S. Lewis?
